Equine First Aid develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognise equine emergencies, respond safely within the first aider's role, and communicate clearly with veterinary professionals. Training is delivered face to face by Five Stars Management & Quality Consultant (FSMQC).
Acadira provides your course information, approved learning
resources, scheduled knowledge examination, scenario assignment instructions,
assessment feedback and completion information. Practical skills are taught and
assessed in person; the resulting records form part of your assessment
portfolio.
The course covers emergency response, equine anatomy and
vital signs, safe approach and restraint, wounds and bandaging, overheating and
injury recognition, veterinary communication, incident records and the
responsibilities and limits of first aid. Your trainer will explain the
difference between first aid actions and procedures reserved for veterinary
professionals.
The face-to-face programme is delivered over eight hours and
may be extended to meet learner needs. You must successfully complete all
required knowledge and practical assessments. Watching videos or completing
online lessons alone does not demonstrate practical competence or entitle you
to the qualification certificate.
